Lace Monitor (Varanus varius)

This large male Lace Monitor was rescued in March 2009 in an extremely emaciated condition. The reasons for its poor health were unknown, but he was in very poor condition, weak, lethargic and appeared close to death.

He responded very well to worming and care throughout the winter months and by springtime was prepared for relocation.
