Tarzan the Peron’s Tree Frog
This little Peron’s Tree Frog (Litoria peronii) came in for adoption. It had been taken to a vet in a Western Sydney suburb as a dog attack victim. The vet had found no injury and so it was passed in for adoption as its origin was unknown.
However, it was nursing some severe injuries. Apart from some minor lacerations a lung could be seen to be inflating and deflating.
After some expert veterinary advice Tarzan spent only three weeks in care before being adopted.
His adopting father appropriately named him Tarzan. The following pictures show Tarzan during his recovery.
This last picture shows Tarzan in his new home.
It is amazing how tough and resilient frogs actually are when they appear to be so delicate.
